I said: "I then realised there was no reason to believe in a theistic God at all."
Should I add 'in my view' to that sentence, so as not to annoy people further?
Anyway, thanks to Simon for letting me post here.
Hope I've contributed something that was useful to someone, in between having a go at people's ideas of a loving God. I also hope that anyone I was rude to will forgive and forget.
I mostly try to be polite, but the drive to look for answers with supporting evidence is strong, and it's hard to just accept any unsatisfactory answers and apparent contradictions, without questioning them.
We all did that, for a time, as believing JW's..
'Jehovah is loving, he'll always look after you like a caring Father'
'You'd better get baptised or you're for the chop at Armageddon'...
'Jehovah cares about all the animals'
'Why did He drown all the animals in the Flood then?'
'Well, He doesn't protect them individually, and He had to destroy all those wicked people.'
'What about the babies and little children?'
'They would have grown up to be bad.'
Etc..
In order to awaken mentally from the brainwashing, at some point we had to stop accepting unsatisfactory answers.
Ok, I'm done.

Active JW's, can you defend "THE TRUTH?"
by DATA-DOG inas of yet, no member of the jehovah's witness faith can defend their unique beliefs.
when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.

For someone who asked.. This is the thread that got me started, in terms of posting and becoming 'apostate' in my views..
(Page 2)

I always had doubts I tried to ignore, but I was emotionally blackmailed into getting baptised.
I'm stuck being an active Jw due to living with family and being dependent on some JW's in terms of work and finances as well as for emotional and physical support.
Please don't ask for more details, I am a private person who gets a bit short-tempered if anyone tries to push me to do something or asks a lot of questions. I'm not that important, anyway. My hatred for animal abuse and love for animals had always caused me difficulties in reconciling a loving God with one who drowned all those innocent creatures in the Flood. The following thread made me think seriously for the first time whether I could love such a God. I then realised there was no reason to believe in a theistic God at all. No reliable evidence of a caring being or even an afterlife. So now I'm just another atheist that gets on people's nerves by attacking beliefs.
But it's time for a break. I don't need to feel as though I have to reply to every arrogant comment that is made, and I don't have much left to say anyway.
Peace to you all, and apologies to anyone who got annoyed by my forthright style.
I just don't react well to people judging other people or telling them what they should do or believe. I'll try to be less confrontational in future, I guess.
Anywho, here's the thread that led to me becoming atheist, if anyone cares. I haven't seen a satisfactory answer to this question yet, and I don't really expect to hear one...

Go back and count these words in your post: could, possible, may, if.
Did you really come here expecting that anyone would care what your incredibly vague, dull, and unfounded speculations on future events are? In that massive block of text, you haven't actually said ANYTHING. Please don't waste our time in future.

Rhodesboy said: "In my opinion, it’s possible that global war will break out in 2017 or shortly thereafter but maybe it starts this year (2014) and is a protracted affair lasting several years."
Ooh, be careful. Making such bold and specific claims could really leave you looking silly if they don't come true.(!)
In my opinion, it's possible that I could get hit by lightning before I read your next post. And I'm not sure which event would be less painful..
...
"I feel it is unwise to speculate on who Edom, Moab and the Ammonites are –...However, it is possible these foreshadow modern day European countries that escape the reach of the invading Russian forces (Spain or Northern Europe) or in a Middle East context, allies of the United States such as Saudi Arabia and Iraq."
Read this part back to yourself and imagine that someone else wrote it. What would you think of their state of mind, seriously?
Speculating seems to be an obsession for you, you are so unwell that you can't stop it.

Very well. Your spelling and grammar seems to be fairly good, but you may need to work on getting a hobby, leaving the house more and making new friends. How's that for constructive? -

Having looked at some of your vids on Youtube, you seem like a nice, normal guy to me.

Being in an organisation that constantly tells you that you're nothing without them, not to mention all the backstabbing and gossiping, can leave you feeling hollow and empty as a person.
Just talking to a co-worker with no idea what you've been through, and no training in any potential anxiety or self-esteem issues, probably won't help much in the long run.
A therapist will have that training, and they won't make you feel weird at all.
Compared to the severely disturbed people they no doubt deal with at times, you'd just be another run-of-the-mill person.
They will probably be like ' why does this guy think he has something wrong with him? He seems like a really cool dude.' ;)
Seriously, I have a lot of issues myself, and if I had the freedom to pour it all out to a therapist, I'd jump at the chance.. Can't really, family has no idea of my mental issues and I'm stuck at home with a wacky family that thinks Satan ruins people's holiday reservations and Jehovah stops it raining so we can go out leaflet pushing. Now THAT is weird ;)
YOU are not weird. You are free, and free to get the help if you choose to.
Anyway, please let us know how you get on. -

If you don't believe in God, Jesus, and everything in the Bible, you are willfully ignorant.

"i absolutely 100% believe in god, jesus christ and everything recorded in the bible.. the reason why is because of the overwhelming amount of evidence.. there is so much evidence that it has taken me years to examine what has cemented my own convictions.".

He said 'objective morality', not subjective morality, BOTR. He didn't say that believers are without morals.
Do you have a comment to make on the topic?: 'Is willful ignorance required, in order to not believe in God, Jesus, and everything in the Bible?'

What was YOUR First Worldly Experience?
by Yondaime inwhile i was in florida during the spring visiting my oldest sister.
i had the time of my life with my brother in law.. you see my sister married a non-believer and my parents viewed him as the scum of the earth, so i was terrified to ever talk to him.
turns out he's one of the coolest people i have ever met.

Being born ;)
Hopefully one day we will all be past the point of using the cult language, such as 'worldly' and 'brothers and sisters'. Not having a go, honest, just pointing it out :)
